Even though we expected this competition to be a bit more exciting this year, the winner blew away the other contenders. Jennifer Lawrence, Sandra Bullock, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jennifer Aniston, Angelina Jolie and Cameron Diaz were battling for the title of the highest paying actress in Hollywood, and Sandra Bullock won this prestige race.

Details

Various agents, producers, lawyers and other available insiders from the industry were interviewed for this survey in order to determine just how much have top celebrities earned from June 2013 up until today, and this is what they found.

Sandra Bullock easily takes this year’s first place on Forbes’ Highest Earning Actress in Hollywood list with staggering $51 million. The 50-year-old star may have lost Best Actress award, but her blockbuster hit “Gravity” won seven Oscars.

Who are the runner-ups?

Jennifer Lawrence took the second position with $34 million. The 23-year-old actress did a great job in “American Hustle” and she has also revisited her roles as Katniss Everdeen and Mystique in “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” and “X-Men: Days of Future Past.”

The second sequel of “The Hunger Games” franchise earned more than $424 million on a $140 million budget, while the “X-Men” sequel made $231.7 million on a $200 million budget. Not bad at all.

Jennifer Aniston added $31 million to her bank account, mainly with the help of surprisingly huge success of the comedy movie “We’re the Millers” and due to receiving royalties from the reruns of “Friends.”

Gwyneth Paltrow was fourth on our list with $19 million, and she has to thank her supporting role in the blockbuster “Iron Man 3” for that. The 41-year-old actress also earned a lot by being a paid spokesperson for Max Factor and Hugo Boss.

Angelina Jolie and Cameron Diaz share the fifth place.

Gender equality in Hollywood?

The numbers you’ve just seen are quite impressive; however, women are still paid less than men in the business. According to the Forbes’ lists, top earning actors brought in a combined $419 million, while the magazine’s top earning actresses brought in only $226 million.
