Carrey posted a romantic photograph of the former couple together, looking very much in love, which he captioned with words “Love cannot be lost” and a rose emoji.
Cathriona White was found dead in her home in Los Angeles over two weeks ago, while Carrey’s tweet came hours after her funeral, where the actor helped carry her coffin in Cappawhite, Ireland.
White was laid to rest in her home village during a packed ceremony, and according to various sources, her sisters and other family members were glad to have Carrey there. The actor was one of five people who helped carry late makeup artist’s coffin to rest.
In an earlier statement, Carrey wrote another emotional message about White:
“She was a truly kind and delicate Irish flower, too sensitive for this soil, to whom loving and being loved was all that sparkled. My heart goes out to her family and friends and to everyone who loved and cared about her. We have all been hit with a lightning bolt.”
