Drew Barrymore has recently opened up about her plans regarding the future of her career in Hollywood and the actress revealed she plans to take a break from acting so she would be able to spend more time with her children.

I Will Act Less And Less

The actress admitted it is hard to be a busy Hollywood A-lister and a good mother at the same time.

I think I will act less and less. It’s hard to be present when you wake up before them and come home after they’ve gone to bed. That’s just not the way I want to have this journey with my kids at this point in their life,” she revealed in an interview for Today magazine.

At Least For Now

Drew, who has two children with her husband, Will Koperman, 23-month-old Olive and 6-month-old daughter Frankie, stated that this might be only temporary.

“But maybe when they’re older, I will feel differently. But at this point, I think it has to be few and far between.”

With her own childhood being pretty turbulent, the actress admitted how her unconventional upbringing influences her parenting skills today.

“I had a very untraditional upbringing, so I looked at it from afar and just thought, ‘Well that’s the exact opposite of how I’d want to raise my kids.’ But it doesn’t make me bummed out that I didn’t have parents. It’s like, thank God that I didn’t because maybe I wouldn’t be this aggressively excited about tradition and values and Christmas cards and Halloween costumes… and being so present,” Drew concluded.
