The Scottish comedian was a close friend to recently deceased actor and comedian, Robin Williams, and he has opened up about the last conversation he had with Robin just before the actor’s death.

Namely, Billy, 71, has recently revealed he thinks Robin was trying to say goodbye to him during their last conversation via phone.

The Love Between Two Fellow Comedians

“We used to talk about Parkinson’s a lot,” Billy, who is a fellow Parkinson’s sufferer like Robin was, told The Telegraph.

“He would call me and we would compare notes. His was early onset, the same as mine. Everybody worries about it.”

We told each other we loved each other. I told him and he told me many times. I never stopped it and he never stopped telling me,” Billy continued.

“As a matter of fact, I thought afterwards he tried to say goodbye to me, because he got very luvvie towards the end. It’s fanciful but that’s what I told myself. On the last phone call he said, ‘I love you like a brother,’ and I said, ‘I know you do,’ and he said, ‘Are you sure you know?’ and I said, ‘Yes.’ Robin worried about everything.”

“He was my pal. He was not always depressed. He was a complicated man, but a beautiful person. He was a joy.” added Billy.

Billy and Robin

The two actors, comedians and, above all, close friends, knew each other for over three decades. They were often seen together having fun, fooling around and simply enjoying each other’s company.

Robin would often visit his friend in Ireland, for the Billy’s birthday or to participate in the Lonach Highland Games, which happened on several occasions.

Robin passed away at age of 63 by taking his own life.
