4. Vince Neil

As he was at the very beginning of his career as lead singer for the rising heavy metal band Mötley Crüe, Vince surely liked drinking, but it was his beloved booze that caused him to take the life of one of his closest friends.

On the evening of December 8, 1984, Vince was driving in Redondo Beach, California with Nicholas Dingley, the drummer for the Finnish band Hanoi Rocks, when he lost control of his car, swerved into the wrong lane and crashed into an oncoming car.

Dingley was instantly killed, and the two occupants of the oncoming car suffered severe injuries.

Mötley Crüe star had a blood-alcohol level more than twice the legal limit and was arrested for drunk driving and vehicular manslaughter.

Two years later, he was sentenced to 30 days in jail, five years of probation and 200 hours of community service and was ordered to pay the victims of the crash $2.6 million.

He ended up serving only 15 of the 30 days in jail.
