Natalie Cole’s Family Celebrates The Singer At Memorial

Natalie Cole, singer, actress, and daughter of the iconic Nat King Cole, was laid to rest on Monday, January 11th, after dying on New Year’s Eve. The legendary songstress died of idiopathic pulmonary arterial hypertension. She was 65.

The memorial service was held at the West Angeles Church of God in Christ. Alongside numerous family members and close friends, the service was also attended by many music icons, including Stevie Wonder, Lionel Richie, Smokey Robinson, David Foster, and many others.

Apart from these musicians who spoke at the service, the mike was also handed to Cole’s sisters, Timolin Cole Augustus and Casey Cole Hooker, and to her son, Robert Adam Yancy. Other celebrity sightings include Angela Basset, Chaka Khan, Rev. Jesse Jackson, Gladys Knight, Courtney B. Vance, Ledisi, etc.

After the beautiful service, which featured many of Natalie’s own songs and various church songs, the family was escorted by the police to a private interment service at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Glendale, California. The legendary performer was buried next to her parents, Nat King Cole and Maria Hawkins.
