One of the most influential new faces in the world of modeling, Kendall Jenner is not without her insecurities.

The 19-year-old member of the Kardashian/Jenner clan has revealed details about her battle with acne on her website, saying her common skin condition made her feel like an “outcast”.

Jenner said she started having acne-related problems at the age of 12 and 13 that really impacted her confidence.

“It completely ruined my self-esteem. I wouldn’t even look at people when I talked to them. When I spoke, it was with my hand covering my face. Sure, I had crushes in high school, but I wouldn’t even think about looking at guys.”

Kendall, who turns 20 next week, has managed to put her acne under control both physically and psychologically.

“Slowly, I’m working towards not caring and I’m just in so much of a better place about it all now that I’m older,” she wrote. “I realised that it’s a part of life for some people and it doesn’t define who you are.”
