Rapper and music mogul Kanye West has been in the crosshair of the public ever since he interrupted Taylor Swift while she was receiving her VMA Awards in 2009. He’s known for his outbursts of egoism and his infamous God-complex, but now he took it to a whole new level.

During his latest closing performance at the Pan Am Games on Sunday – which was controversial by itself – the rapper’s microphone suddenly cut off, which meant those who were at the Toronto’s Rogers Centre watching West perform live couldn’t hear him, while those watching the broadcast could.

Despite this being a somewhat minor technical difficulty, Kanye threw his microphone in the air and stormed off the stage.

His performance was cut short, but the Canadian crowd loved it. In fact, they loved it so much, they were actually cheering for more, even though they knew this was just an abbreviated form of Kanye’s performance.

Pan Am Games CEO Saad Rafi said: “The volume that he performs at is so high, it might have been what affected the sound system, but it also might be something his team planned all along, so you just never know because he’s such a creative guy.”

It turns out this whole thing might be staged, but we guess we’ll never know how far the rapper’s ‘creativity’ can go.
