Singer Chris Brown was denied entry into Canada only hours before a show in Montreal and another one scheduled in Toronto the next day.

The R&B singer posted a tweet that disappointed thousands of his fans who had already purchased tickets for the concerts.

Brown’s tweet explained that “the good people of the Canadian government wouldn’t let him into the country for shows in Montreal and Toronto”.

The shows were scheduled at Montreal’s Bell Center for Tuesday and Toronto’s Air Canada Center for Wednesday, while Trey Songz and Tyga were supposed to make an appearance at the concerts. According to Brown, the Montreal and Toronto shows were sold out.

Brown has already been denied access to the U.K.

The singer has seen his share of problems with law enforcement, including pleading guilty to felony assault in his incident with Rihanna in 2009, a brawl with Canadian rapper Drake in New York, and an altercation with Frank Ocean that was allegedly over a parking space.

Brown gave a glimmer of hope to his fans across the border, tweeting “I’ll be back this summer and will hopefully see all my Canadian fans!”
