One of the boldest comediennes of our time, Joan Rivers passed away on September 4th, and her daughter Melissa has been silent since the tragic death of her mother, but now Melissa has spoken for the first time since the funeral.

Kindness & Support

The TV producer and actress, Melissa Rivers, thanked everyone who paid their respect and showed kindness and support to the late star.

“As my son Cooper and I mourn the loss of my mother, we want to thank everyone for the beautiful cards and flowers conveying heartfelt messages and condolences, which continue to arrive from around the world and through social media,” Melissa wrote via WhoSay on Wednesday evening.

“My mother would have been overwhelmed by the scope and depth of the love that people have expressed for her. It is certainly helping to lift our spirits during this time. We are forever grateful for your kindness and support in continuing to honor my mother’s legacy, and for remembering the joy and laughter that she brought to so many,” she added.

Joan’s Showbiz Funeral

The comedienne had a glamorous life, filled with fame and paparazzi, and that’s exactly what she wanted her funeral to be like. Joan once mentioned she wanted journalists, paparazzi and many a celebrity at her wedding.

“For my funeral I want Craft services, I want paparazzi and I want publicists making a scene! I want it to be Hollywood all the way. I want Meryl Streep crying, in five different accents… I want a wind machine so that even in the casket my hair is blowing just like Beyoncé’s.”

I want a huge showbiz affair” she said, and that’s exactly what she got.
