George Clooney & Amal Alamuddin

One of the most anticipated Hollywood marriages of the decade took place on Saturday when the ultimate bachelor George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin exchanged the famous “I Do” and, ladies… hate to say it, but he’s officially off the list.

Details

The newlyweds decided to choose Italy’s most romantic city, Venice, as the setting for the long awaited event, which, in spite of Clooney’s status as one of the Hollywood’s biggest A-listers, actually went down as a small and somewhat private wedding, but glamorous and stylish nonetheless.

The guest list included Bono, Bill Murray, Matt Damon, Cindy Crawford, Emily Blunt and Ellen Barkin, who were some of the lucky few celebrities to attend the ceremony and add to the excitement.

The guests were chauffeured by waterboats between the venues.

The pre-wedding party was held at the Belmond Cipriani Hotel, and was later moved on to the seven-star Aman Canal Grande where the lovebirds officially tied the knot in a romantic sunset ceremony.

A Symbolic Souvenir

It was reported that each guest was given a nice present to remember the event by – a framed wedding photo of the couple, and the caption read:

“We’re both so glad you’re here. You’ve come a long way so we’ll make it worth the trip. Thanks for being here. It means the world to us.”
